Recent advances in the SEERS project on the development of a IR multi aperture imaging system for surveillance aplications will be presented. Efforts on the development of embedded algorithms for image reconstruction of multi spectral and super resolution images, and image-based measurements will be described.
We present an integral-imaging super-resolution imaging system in the long-wave infrared based on a synchronous array of low-cost uncooled cameras that yields enhanced angular resolution and 3D integral-imaging capabilities, operating at video rate. Integral imaging facilitates the sub-pixel image registration required for SR at specific planes.
We demonstrate a multi-aperture longwave-infrared multispectral imaging technique that, though simple, uniquely combines for the first time the advantages of high throughput, video-rate operation, real-time optimization and low cost. We report snapshot imaging, detection and classification of gas clouds and plastics.
